The encounter in El Paso went well. The encounter was restructured to deliver more hands-on projects to students and their sponsors to take back to their schools and school districts. The students were assigned to missions that included how to do a lighting audit and an exit sign audit, doing sleep is good in your district, weatherization, and how to put a vending miser on vending machines to calculate the savings.

John Paige was the motivational speaker. Mr. Paige is a former teacher and current energy manager for the Ysleta ISD. He connected with the students and made a wonderful, exciting start to the day.

There were 11 students present from three different school districts. Two sponsors were also in attendance and contributed to the event.
