Yessiree, that's a tall tale!

California leads the world in wind energy production, but Texas has almost 20 times more wind energy potential than California . Texas currently produces 1503.14 megawatts of electricity- enough to light 1.5 million classrooms. But our wind potential is enough to light over 136 million classrooms. The main problem is that rural West Texas is far from the urban and industrial areas where electric demand is highest. New transmission lines will have to be built.
